Cowboys Sweep NOC- Enid on Homecoming

Warner, OK- The Cowboys played nip-and-tuck with the Jets for the first five minutes before blowing things open and leading by 30 at halftime 58-28 as they rolled to a 104-62 win to remain in a tie with NEO for the top spot in the conference. Both teams are 12-1 in the conference with three games left including a possible winner-take-all showdown next Monday at Warner.

The Cowboys saw the return of Tulsa Memorial product Ty Frierson back in action still recovering from a knee injury and reserve big man Sayid Burnside came off the bench to score 14 points in the final 10 minutes of the game.

"All those things were set up by how we played in the first half," said head coach Bill Muse. "We got a nice comfortable lead and were able to play a lot of people in the second half for a lot of minutes. I just wanted to get Ty back on the court to get a feel for the game since he's been out for four or five weeks. He played some in the first half and did okay but didn't feel like going any in the second half so I think that will come along."

Sophomore Braydn Hubbard reached his season scoring average with 26 points to lead the Cowboys (25-2, 12-1 OCAC) while Donyae May had 16, Tony Green added 13, Percy Green contributed had 11 and Khamani Cooper finished in double digits with 10 points. Cahlese Lee led the Jets (10-18, 2-12 OCAC) with 22 points on the night.

The Cowboys and Cowgirls play at Redlands on Thursday and then return home next week to complete the regular season Monday against NEO and Thursday taking on Eastern before advancing to the Region 2 post season tournament March 13-16 at the Muskogee's Rougher Village.
