The Cowboys opened the 2024 season by hosting Ozarks in a doubleheader. The Cowboys had a lead of 6-0 by the bottom of the second and rolled on to a 14-1 victory in game one of the Opening Day Doubleheader. Elijah Alexander, Wally Diaz, Teonis Pimentel, and David Stanley combined for twelve hits with Pimentel recording four rbi's.
The Cowboy defense was solid, while two pitchers combined to hold Ozarks to only three hits and one run. Twin Palmer had nine strike outs and no walks and earned the win. Thomas Brownfield closed out the game in relief by striking out two, walking one, and surrendering zero runs.
Game two of the Opening Day Doubleheader again highlighted the Cowboy bats, defense, and outstanding pitching. Cowboys collecting hits in game two were: Elijah Alexander, Pierre Cabral, Wally Diaz, Seth Hedges, Trevor Rowe, Teonis Pimentel, Blake Simpson, and David Stanley.
The defense remained strong for game two with the Cowboys making no errors in the field and keeping Ozarks off the board. Gabriel Baldera recorded the win giving up only three hits, striking out six and walking none over four innings. Brannon Westmoreland took over for Baldera to close out the game with one strike out, no walks, and giving up one run. The Cowboys took game two with a score of 20-0. This was excellent way to kick start the 2024 season. The Cowboys begin the 2024 season 2-0.
