WARNER---Connors State Cowgirls will battle Northern Oklahoma-Enid at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Region II play-in game at Northeastern A&M in Miami, Okla. The game was originally to be played at Warner; however, the Cowgirls field was deemed unplayable because of the recent rains.

The winner of the one game contest will advance to the Region II Tournament on Thursday in a 4 p.m. clash against top-seed Seminole State. The Region II Tournament is being played at Seminole State.

The Cowgirls (15-29) is the No. 8 seed in the tournament after finishing 10-22 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play. NOC-Enid (19-33) is the No. 9 seed and finished 7-23 in the league.

Cowgirls and Jets split their four-game series during the regular season, with each winning a game on their opponent's home field.

"We are going to have a good offensive day and outscore them, said Cowgirls interim head coach Rick Carbone. "We split the four games with Enid this year and each time it was a high scoring contest with one exception.

"We just couldn't get our field ready for the game. It was under water so we had to move the game. NEO was the closest site for both of us to travel and they agreed to let us use their facility," said Carbone.

Freshman Maylin Hladik will get the start inside the circle for the Cowgirls. She has a 7-11 record with a 6.23 earn-run-average, with 112 innings in the circle. She has struck out 21while walking 28.

Connors enters the game with a team batting average of .300 with sophomore Breanna Simmons leading the offensive attack with a .390 batting average. She has four home runs, 15, doubles, and 27 runs-batted-in.

Sophomore Jessica Collins leads the Cowgirls with 11 home runs and is hitting .284 on the year. Collins leads the team in RBIs with 32.

Cowgirls will be playing without their leading hitter sophomore Haley Castle (.408) who broke here thump against Northeastern A&M late in the season.

"If we get past Enid we get to play the No. 2 team in the nation," said Carbone. Seminole State is 47-2 on the year and was unbeaten in OCAC play this year at 30-0.
