Warner- Connors State Cowboys and Cowgirls got Thanksgiving weekend started early as they feasted on the University of Arkansas-Cossatot Colts in a doubleheader sweep Wednesday afternoon at Melvin Self Fieldhouse.

The Cowboys ran their undefeated streak to eight in a row as they defeated the Colts 97-69 scoring the first 15 points of the game then stretched the lead to 30 points at times in the second half.

"We played really good the first 10 minutes then we got a little comfortable and started trading baskets with them for a while,' said Cowboys' coach Bill Muse. "I was pleased with the effort the guys showed in this game right before Thanksgiving when everyone is anxious to get away. Donyae May played really well today running the team and taking shots and Bradyn Hubbard had another fine game and really held us together."
