Cowboys Open OCAC Play with Road Win in Altus

Altus- Connors State rode second-half charges to a road win at Western on Monday Night inside Pioneer Gym. The Cowboys up 4 at the half, and scored the games final 9 points in the final minutes to came away with a 109-103 win on Monday in Altus.

The Cowboys (14-1, 1-0 OCAC) aand Pioneers changed leades a majority of the game. The largest lead of the Contest was 9 in the First Half by the Cowboys before Western came back to keep the game within Striking Distance the rest of the night. Connors was down 3 with 1:30 left to go before Buddy Hammer had a 3 Point Play to tie the game, and then had a steal and Dunk toto put the Cowboys in front for the remained of the game. Connors would go 39-42 from the Foul Line to get the OCAC conference Opener on the Road in Altus.

Buddy Hammer Jr led six Cowboys in double figures with 23 points. Antonio Green Jr had 21 points. Khamani Cooper had 20 points. Ty Frierson had 18 points. Donyae May had 12 points, and Bradyn Hubbard had 11. Percy Green and Saiyd Burnside came off the Bench to each score 2 points in the Win.
 
The Cowboys shot 48 percent from the field, and 58 percent from the Three Point Range. Connors was also 39-42 from the Free Throw Line, Compared to Western Oklahoma State Colleges 22-32 on the Night
 
The Cowboys are back at Home on Thursday Night to take on Defending Region 2 tournament Champions, the seminole State College Trojans. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm in Warner, Oklahoma.
