Cooper Signs with Nebraska-Omaha

Warner, OK- Connors State's head men's basketball coach Bill Muse and University of Nebraska- Omaha head coach Chris Crutchfield announced on Friday the signing of Cowboys' Guard Khamani Cooper to a National Letter of Intent.

"Khamani is a quick scoring guard that can score at three levels," said Head Coach Chris Crutchfield. "Cooper is an excellent shooter that can create his own shot and facilitate for others and is a tough on ball defender. We are lucky to have a player of his caliber with three years to play."
 
Cooper helped lead the Cowboys to a 34-3 record during the 2023-2024 Season. He helped the Cowboys to an OCAC Regular Season Championship, Region 2 Tournament Championship, and an appearance in the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament Final Four after earning the No. 19 national seed in the tournament up in Hutchinson, Kansas. 
 
The 6-foot-4 forward from Pine Bluff, Arkansas started 32 of the 37 games that he played in. He averaged 12.6 points while shooting 47.9% from the field, 40.1% from 3, 2.6 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. Cooper shot 82.8 percent from the free throw line on the year. 
 
He posted season and career highs of 29 points in the NJCAA National Tournament Opening Round Win against Moberly Area Community College, collected as many as 6 rebounds in a game and handed out as many as 6 assists.

He posted 25 games of 10+ points, including a multipule stretches of where he scored over 20 points in consecutive games.

The Pine Bluff, Arkansas, native attended Watson Chaple High School as a prep before signing with the Cowboys. Cooper helped lead the Watson Chapel to its first Conference Championship in over a decade.
