Cowboys Saiyd Burnside Signs with Florida A&M

Saiyd Burnside has signed to play basketball for Florida A&M Rattlers, it was officially announced today by Connors State's men's basketball head coach Bill Muse and FAMU head coach Patrick Crarey II.

"Excited to have Saiyd rejoin our Rattler Family," Crarey II said. "Saiyd brings a great amount of maturity, toughness and a great competitive spirit to our team. He knows what it takes to win at a high level. In addition, Saiyd adds a great ability to rebound the ball and finish plays at the rim. He has all of the winning qualities we covet for our team."
 
Burnside helped lead the Cowboys to a 34-3 record including the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship, NJCAA Region II Championship and a Final Four appearance in the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament after earning the No. 19 national seed in the event. Burnside poured in his best game for the Cowboys during the National Semifinals.
 
The 6-foot-9 Forward from Greenville, South Carolina appeared in 25 games for the cowboys. He missed several games due to Injury but when Burnside was in the Line-Up and Healthy he was a dominayting force in the paint for the Cowboys. He averaged 4.7 points, 2.8 rebounds 0.6 steals per game, and 0.2 Blocks, shooting 54.9 percent from the floor, and 69.2 percent from the free throw line.
 
He posted season and career highs of 15 points in the NJCAA National Semifinals in Hutchinson, Kansas against Triton College, collected as many as 9 rebounds in a game.
