
Warner- After a close first eight minutes, the Connors State Cowboys exploded and ran away from Langston University 95-53 as four Cowboys scored in double figures.
Connors led from the outset, but the Lions played close and trailed just 21-17 at the under 10:00 media timeout of the first half when the Cowboys went on a run and outscored Langston 23-15 for the rest of the half to lead 44-32 at the break.
"Our offense was a little sluggish to start tonight but we've got to correct a lot of stuff on defense," said head coach Bill Muse.
Hutchinson Community College Transfer sophomore Edwin Daniel led all scorers on the night with 21 points, followed by freshman Kevin Stubblefield Jr from Omaha, Nebraska with 19, Aric Walls and Ethan Diets rounded out double foigure scoring with 13 points, freshman Dashaun Spence and DJ Dormu, ended up ;with 8 points and 7 points respectively, as the Cowboys go to 2-0 on the season.
The Cowboys return to Melvin Self Fieldhouse on Wednesday night to take on Jayhawk Conference Member Independence Community College. Tip off is at 7:00pm.
