Muskogee, OK- The expressions on the faces of Connors coach Bill Muse and his son Bill Jr. were with a lot of excitment on Wednesday evening after the Cowboys defeated Northern Oklahoma College- Enid in the Region II Tournament Quarterfinals inside Rougher Village in Muskogee.
Connors (26-3) advanced to the second round of the tournament with the help of three Cowboys in double figures. Connors took the Lead for good in the middle of the second half with a
DJ Dormu three for a 48-45 Lead with just a little over 8 minutes to go in regulation and never looked back.
"It was a good team win because we'll have a tough second round game against Western Oklahoma State College who swept us in the regular season," said the elder Muse.
Freshman
DJ Dormu led the double-digit parade with 21 points followed by
Kevin Stubblefield Jr with 16 and freshman
Aric Walls with 15 points.
Edwin Daniel finished the night with 8 Points.
Ethan Dietz had 6 points, and
Jermiah Johnson rounded out the Cowboys scoring with 4 Points.
"I thought our defense was really good," said Muse "We held them to 55 points on the night and that has been our staple all season long."
Connors Return to Tournament on Friday Afternoon at 1:00pm against Western Oklahoma State College inside Rougher Village on the campus of Muskogee High School.
